John commenced his working life in the LCL Department of Ireland’s largest shipping Line, B+I Line (now Irish Ferries) in 1976. He worked for two years (1981/1982) in a long established Irish National and International Haulage company before setting up his own Freight Forwarding company which he ran for five years. John joined the rapidly expanding Air Express industry in 1988 and worked in various roles including Key Account Manager, Operations Manager, Dublin Airport Gateway, Sales Manager and at one stage Global Account Manager based in Brussels where he managed global logistics clients. Since 2008 John has operated his own Freight Forwarding and Customs Clearance agency, Foremost Freight Ltd. Most recently, John was part of the Local Organizing Committee to bring the 2016 FIATA World Congress to Dublin. FIATA are the International Federation of Freight Forwarders and their annual World Congress is an event which moves around the World each year. This industry significant event is attended by leading Professionals in the Global Freight, Logistics, Transport and Distributions industries and John was an integral part of promoting the Congress in advance and seeing it through to successful operation in October 2016.
