The Irish International Freight Association will host a presentation by the French firm Marseille Gyptis International of their Cargo Community System AP +, on Thursday February 25th in the Davenport Hotel, Merrion Square, Dublin.
Since April 2008 the association has been involved in studying the prospects in this country for a Cargo Community System which enables both private and public freight professionals in the Supply Chain to manage all import and export processes of goods.
We have had discussions concerning the issues involved with both Customs and The Dublin Port Company over recent months, and we now would like to introduce the concept to a broader audience of professionals who are involved in the Supply Chain.
Accordingly IIFA is sponsoring a presentation on Thursday February 25th in the Davenport Hotel, Merrion Square, Dublin by Marseilles Gyptis International of its AP+ Cargo Community System.
AP+ is the most up to date Cargo Community System enabling a link between all private and public professionals from a logistics community to manage all import and export processes of goods moving by surface or air.
The system optimises, organises, pilots and secures all supply chain processes of a cargo community to manage all type of goods. This would include air cargo as well as all surface cargo.
It is a system for operators within the community and through which everyone can add their information to the system according to their role in the supply chain. The information is shared so that everyone can track and trace the movement of the goods in real time along with viewing the physical, administrative and customs status of the goods bringing with it significant reduction in costs.
AP+ enables track and trace in real time of the flow of goods whether physical, administrative or Customs-related. The information is integrated and shared by the operators in the community.
It can be connected to partners' private systems and it incorporates new security and safety requirements.
In the course of this year, MGI are implementing AP+ in two major cargo communities in Algeria and French Guiana.
Maresille Gyptis International
MGI was created in 1985 through the initiative of port professional associations from the port of Marseille-Fos with the aim of creating a unified IT system.
The first Cargo Community System created was set up in 1989.
Today with more than 20 years experience in the deployment of complex information systems for the logistics and freight transport industries, and its activities in France and abroad, have enabled MGI to emerge as a key player in the field of international trade.
The design, production and operation of the AP+ has enabled MGI to acquire a complete strategic overview of the situation coupled with field experience to meet the needs of all logistics communities.
The communities involved include those of ports, airports or multimodal hubs.
