CLECAT and FIATA Membership

International Representation by IIFA

IIFA as a recognised industry stakeholder maintains membership of a number of knowledgeable and influential Associations both at National and International level.

IIFA is Ireland’s National Association Member of:

  • FIATA, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations, based in Zurich, Switzerland.
  • CLECAT, the European Association for Forwarding, Transport, Logistics and Customs Services, based in Brussels, Belgium.

Locally, Representatives from the IIFA Council sit upon Revenue’s Customs Consultative Committee and other relevant stakeholder groups, such as DTTAS’ BREXIT group. IIFA also maintains positive working relationships with relevant industry groups such as the Freight Transport Association of Ireland, Institute of Chartered Brokers, Irish Exporters Association and Irish Road Haulage Association.

Through these Memberships, IIFA receives and shares with its Member companies relevant industry updates, advice on forthcoming legislation changes and also a voice to raise their own concerns via influential channels.

IIFA Representatives attend FIATA twice a year; the Spring HQ session in Zurich, Switzerland and its annual World Congress. CLECAT meetings are held every 2 – 3 months in Brussels and IIFA is an active voice for the Irish Freight industry within that group.

IIFA also attends quarterly meetings with BIFA’s Northern Ireland group.

Industry relevant news is also collated from these sources and shared with IIFA Members, offering insight not included in standard industry media.
