16 Feight Forwarders attended City of Dublin FET College’s annual graduation, taking place on a gorgeously sunny day at the Mansion House in Dublin, on Monday 25th May 2026.
These Graduates were part of a larger group of 44 who took part IIFA’s Introduction to Freight Forwarding course, across two 12x week blocks, one September – December 2025 and the latest February – May 2026. While these groups represented IIFA’s eighth and ninth class groups respectively, the delivery of the course did differ between them.
The Introduction to Freight Forwarding course is delivered in line with Quality and Qualifications Ireland’s (QQI) component award for Freight Forwarding, as part of their larger level 5 Logistics & Distribution award. IIFA had been delivering this programme through weekly 3-hour sessions via Zoom. In February of this year, the Association trialled a new delivery system: the course was delivered across 12 weeks but the material was made available in an asynchronous format, with material available on-demand and with new content scheduled across the course timeline. Live sessions remained a part of the course delivery but were reduced to 5 sessions, mainly used for Guests Speakers and to support the learning material made available online.
Feedback from this first asynchronous group has been positive and IIFA will continue this approach when the next class group is set for delivery, later in September of 2026.
The group of 44 represented 20 different member businesses of IIFA, with seven members enrolling their colleagues for the first time. Once again, IIFA appreciates its close association with Pearse College Dublin, who support employees of IIFA members to take part with this course, through subsided course fees and access to a qualification combining IIFA’s industry relevant knowledge and QQI’s national framework of qualifications.
IIFA will open registration for the next course over the summer months. Members interested in registering their colleagues for the next group can do so by contacting IIFA via infom@iifa.ie
