Woodland Ireland successfully gains AEO accreditation

IIFA Full Trading Members Woodland Ireland Ltd announced this week that they have successfully passed their AEO assessment through Irish Revenue and Customs.

AEO is an internationally recognised status that shows the company is established to have a safe and secure role in international supply chains and that its customs controls and standards are of a high quality.

Kevin Brady, Managing Director of Woodland Ireland, praised the work of this Colleagues as part of the process; “Our Customs Team has gone from strength to strength, offering consultancy and management services to support our Clients through regulatory processes. Recent political and related changes in processes have increased demands on the team and gaining the AEO status was key for us at this point to assure regulators and our Customers of the quality solutions our expert team delivers and will be able to support Clients with as we build future Supply Chains.”

AEO is voluntary accreditation which requires a Business to go through an in-depth auditing process and includes a visit by a National Customs Authority in order to perform a thorough evaluation of the Business as part of this process.

AEO within the Irish Freight Forwarding and Customs Brokerage industry

As of 12th May 2021, there are 284 AEO Holders operating within the Republic of Ireland Freight Forwarding, Logistics and Customs Brokerage industries, with the IIFA Membership representing 23% of that total number.

AEO Status can bring the Holder various benefits throughout their operations, such as priority treatment if selected for control and it improves access to further Customs Simplification applications. One new benefit to be introduced in the future is prior notification of selection for control for pre-lodged Declarations. This latest benefit is facilitated through Revenue Custom’s new AIS (Automated Import System) interface and will be available to AEO Holders, and therefore the Clients they serve, in the near future.
